Chengdu Lhasa Overland Tour is very beautiful varies greatly an elevation. The Sichuan-Tibet Highway from Chengdu to Lhasa is very excellent trail by train. A traveler may experience four seasons within one day. It can be snow heavily on the top of the mountain. But you will get warm at its foot. For the most part, the highway is rough and winding. During the rainy season, the mountainside often caves in, sending down landslides that block the road. Therefore, when taking this route, we need extra days if incase that happen. Scenic spots along the way include Mount Erlang, Luding Bridge, Kangding, the Jingsha River, Rawu Lake, Tangmai (known as the "black spot for Landslides"), and Nyingchi where on can experience four seasons in a day.

Chengdu Lhasa Overland Tour Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 01. Arrive in Chengdu:
Our representative pick you up from Chengdu and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02. Drive from Chengdu to Khamding:
In the morning have a breakfast at hotel and Drive via the Erlangshan tunnel to Khamding. On the way, pass by the famous countryside of Hailuogou Glaciers, located on the eastern side of Mountain Gongha.

Day 03. Drive from Khamding to Litang:
In the morning have a breakfast and then drive to Litang. Litang is 4014m above sea level, resting on the open grassland framed by peaks. Another big festival is held in Litang between first and tenth of August, when the place enlarges with crowds heavy in from all over Kham. The 7th and 10th Dalai Lama was also born here.

Day 04. Drive from Litang to Batang:
Before at Batang town, take a long way around to visit scenic Tsopu Gou . In the afternoon arrive at the low lying town of Batang. It also famous for its local Xuanzi dances and the style of structure is similar to that around Derge.

Day 05. Drive from Batang - Mangkham to Zuogong:
After passing Zhubalong, drive into Mangkham is the first town in if arriving from Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Driving to southward from here, the road leads to Derchen, Zhongdian, Lijiang and Kunming. Markham is a basic town.

Day 06. Drive from Zuogong to Basu:
The road follows along a river to Bangdha, a very small town. Between Basu and Bangdha is the famous and very high Nujiang Mountain range and deep valleys. Basu country is very famous for Basu Monastery.

Day 07. Drive from Basu to Bomi:
In the morning have a breakfast and then driving 90km further south, is the famous Ranwu Lake surrounded by mountain. Between Basu and Ranwu are nude mountains and valleys. Heading on to Bomi, from where once can see exposing snow peaks.

Day 08. Drive from Bomi - Basongts to Gongbu Gyangdha:
Drive into a valley to visit the Basongtso Lake, the Crystal Lake, the lush trees and the monastery.

Day 09. Drive from Gongbu Gyangdha to Lhasa:
In the morning have a breakfast and then drive via the Mila Mountain to Mindro Gongkha. It is said that the Tibetan King Songtsan Gongpo was born here in a palace. It called Gyiamar palace. It is also the home to the monastery of Drigung Kagyu.

Day 10-11. Sightseeing Tour around Lhasa city.

Day 12. Drive from Lhasa to Gonggar airport and fly to Kathmandu.
